CAMP LIFE

AN IGO WEEKEND IS ABOUT RECONNECTING WITH NATURE AND SPENDING TIME WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

The heart of an IGO weekend is the camp – a space of relaxation where you can wind down with mindful yoga, wild cooking, a photography workshop or bushcraft session with our qualified experts. The experiences offered in camp vary per location, so you could be foraging in Exmoor and whisky tasting in Scotland. Have a look at the list below for a full breakdown of the experiences, workshops and training sessions offered in camp.

OUTDOOR LIVING

Camping is an important part of the weekend so we’ve put a lot of work into making sure your experience is the best it can be. We encourage participants to disconnect from phones and technology, encouraging everyone to meet new people and get back to basics.

The majority of our weekend adventures are spent under canvas in spacious and comfortable bell tents. Morocco is the exception where you camp Berber Style. We believe that you should not forfeit a good night’s sleep when being in the outdoors and so our tents contain all the basics needed for a good night’s rest including mattresses, lanterns and rugs; you just need to bring your sleeping bag and pillow. Tents are unpowered, so leave your phone on airplane mode, save the battery for photos and remember to bring your book!

On an IGO weekend, we are getting back to nature, and there is no better way to do that than with a bit of burn (stream) bathing! Eco-friendly soaps are provided by Soul Soaps for washing to not pollute the watercourse. Toilets are found near to camp.

FOOD

We partner with great local chefs to make sure you are well fed leading up to the challenge, celebrating the local, healthy ingredients and flavours. The challenge culminates in a celebration and IGO Feast on Saturday night! If you have any special dietary requests then please Read the full interview with one of our chefs for more information – Food on IGO: Fuelling your Adventures.
